Beyonce vs. Taylor Swift - was Kanye right?

September 14, 2009

So much of the cooler talk this morning at the office didn’t revolve around the season-opening Sunday of Football season, but rather Kanye’s antics last night at the VMA’s. While I feel Kanye was wrong for stealing Taylor’s spotlight during her accecptance speech, I do feel he presented a valid point when he said Beyonce’s video for “Single Ladies” was “one of the greatest videos of all time”….well, maybe not all time, but definitely better than Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” video. I mean, Beyonce’s vid did sparked thousands of spoofs & homemade videos. Check out the vids and judge for yourself:

The Notorious B.I.G. - G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time)

September 2, 2009

Was listening to “Me & my B*tch” the other day and the song starts off with the following line:

“When I met ya I admit my first thoughts was a trick
You look so good huh, I suck on your daddy’s d*ck (yeah)”

How many rappers would even think to say that when professing their love for a female? In fact, there isn’t another rapper today who would feel comfortable saying that line. But despite Hip Hop being a very homophobic genre, Bigge had the guts to say it and never got questioned for doing so. “Me & my Bitch” to this day remains a classic and a favorite off his debut album, Ready to Die.

That’s why he’s the Greatest of All Time.
