Throwback Thursday - Mario Winans

March 26, 2009

While waiting on line to the men’s room during the Knicks’ disappointing 140-135 loss to the Clippers last night, I was standing behind no other than Mario Winans. You might remember him as being part of Diddy’s Bad Boy family (not sure if they’re still cool) and being featured on Diddy’s “I Need a Girl part. 2″ years back, but Mario hasn’t come out with any new material since. But who can forget his biggest record to date, 2004’s “I Don’t Wanna Know”, which reached as high as #2 on the US charts for 8 consecutive weeks. Check out the vid:

MTA - Metropolitan Thief Association

March 25, 2009

Does the crowded subway platform in the picture above look a little too familiar? Well, better get used to it because this morning, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, or as I like to call them, the Metropolitan Thief Association passed a bill that will reduce service in addition to fare hikes. So not only are we not getting improvements in service with the fare hike, but service will actually be reduced….makes perfect sense if you’re Elliot Sander . The MTA claims that the “fare hikes and service cutbacks needed to keep the transit system from going broke”. Well, how about you stop spending $4 million dollars to rename a damn bridge?!?!?

Here are the list of fare hikes, effective May 31st:

- Single rides would go from $2 to $2.50—a 25% hike;

- 7-day unlimited cards would be $31 (currently $25)—a 24% hike;

- 14-day unlimited cards would be $59 (currently $47)—a 25% hike;

- 30-day unlimited card would be $103 (currently $81)—a 27% hike;

- 7-day express bus cards would be $51 (currently $41)—a 24% hike

With today’s 61-51 win over UMBC, Binghamton wins it’s first America East conference tournament and punches their first ticket to the Big Dance! Binghamton was led by Reggie Fuller’s 19 pts and 10 rebs. Oh how sweet it is!

March Madness is here!!

March 13, 2009

Yup, it’s that time of year again….March Madness! While many teams punched their tickets to the Big Dance this week, some teams are still duking it out in their conference tournaments. Check out last night’s epic Big East battle between Syracuse and UConn, a game spanning 6 overtimes!!! Also knocking on the door of the NCAA tournament is my alma mater Binghamton University, who takes on UMBC this Saturday 3/14 at 11am (game will be broadcasted on ESPN2). Winner goes dancing, loser goes home.

Let’s go Bearcats!
